About NEET SS Exam

NEET Super Specialty 2023 will be conducted in September 2023 by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). National Eligibility Entrance Test Super Speciality will be conducted by the National Board of Examinations. It is a single entrance examination for various DM/ M.Ch/ DNB, Post Doctoral Fellowships courses. This is an eligibility cum ranking admission. The National Board of Examination conducts the entrance examination every year. Candidates must read the below-given article to know more NEET SS 2023 entrance test.

NEET SS Eligibility

NEET SS 2023 Eligibility Criteria is a very important factor in any Admission procedure. If a candidate satisfies the eligibility criteria then only he will be eligible to participate in the Admission process.

Given below are the NEET SS 2023 eligibility criteria for both Indian Nationals and Foreign Nationals.

For Indian Candidates
  • The candidate has to submit the Post-Graduate Medical Degree (MS/MD/DNB) or Provisional Pass Certificate or Equivalent Qualification for the Entrance Examination.

For NRI Candidates
  • Foreign nationals can appear in NEET-SS 2023 without MCI registration.
  • The Medical Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Doctoral course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postdoctoral studies.
  • Provided further that temporary registration to such foreign national will be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered with appropriate registering authority in his own country where from he has obtained his PG Medical qualification and is duly recognized by the corresponding Medical Council or concerned authority.
  • This Registration Process is to ensure that whether the applicant has registered from an appropriate country or not.

NEET SS Admit Card

Candidates who complete the application submission process will be issued the NEET SS 2023 admit cards.
  • It is an important document for appearing in the exam, the admit card will contain details like the name of the candidate, roll number, name and address of exam centre, and also the date and time of the exam.
  • The candidate must download the admit card before the NEET SS 2023 exam date.
  • After downloading the admit card, the candidate needs to paste a photo in the appropriate place.

Documents to carry along with the NEET SS admit card on exam day:
  • Photocopy of permanent or provisional SMC/MCI registration
  • A valid photo ID proof in original, which may be any one of the following - PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, or Aadhaar Card

NEET SS Selection

The NEET SS counselling process will be commenced after few days from the declaration of final result. The counselling procedure will be conducted for every exam qualified candidates through online mode. It will be conducted by MCC of DGHS.

Qualified candidates from this NEET SS entrance test will be able to participate in the counselling procedure from the month of October 2022. Candidates will be shortlisted for the counselling procedure based on their rank in the merit list.

NBE will conduct the counselling procedure for NEET SS in various rounds based on the availability of seats. The seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of their rank.


NEET SS Syllabus

The syllabus for the NEET SS 2022 examination is released by the authority through online mode. It will consist of various topics from the relevant academics session. It will be based on curriculum of PG exit level of the primary feeder broad speciality subject.

The syllabus will be designed to test the Technical and Non-Technical skill of applicants. Candidates will be able to check the complete syllabus through the website.

Syllabus: Paper A of the Question Paper
  • This part of the question paper contains multiple-choice questions.
  • The questions are based on eligible feeder broad speciality courses.
  • This paper will comprise questions from only one broad speciality if there is just one single feeder broad speciality course. For instance, the only feeder broad speciality for MCh Urology is MS/ DNB General Surgery. In this case, the Urology question paper’s Part A will contain questions from General Surgery only.
  • In the case of multiple feeder broad speciality courses, Part A will contain questions from all the eligible speciality courses. For instance, Respiratory Medicine, Pediatrics and General Medicine are the eligible feeder broad specialities for Cardiology. So, Cardiology question paper’s Part A will comprise questions from these three feeder broad speciality courses

Syllabus: Paper B of the Question Paper
  • This part of the question paper contains 60 questions.
  • These questions will be decided based on the concerned super-speciality.
  • All the PG Exit level questions or topics will be covered from applied basic sciences and clinical practices pertaining to the super speciality.
 

Syllabus: Clubbing

  • There are certain MCh/ DM with single common feeder broad speciality and less number of seats, these are clubbed together.
  • For the generation of question paper and online submission of the application form, each group that is clubbed is treated as one.
  • For instance, courses like Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Pediatric Hepatology and Pediatric Oncology are clubbed under Pediatrics making it the single common feeder Broad Specialty course. In this case, Part A of the question paper will contain questions from the clubbed super speciality i.e., Pediatrics. The questions in Part B, on the other hand, will be asked from all the super specialities that have been clubbed together under Pediatrics.

NEET SS Exam Pattern

NBE has released NEET SS 2022 pattern along with the information brochure on July 15. Candidates will find all details regarding the pattern in the information brochure uploaded on the official website. This year NBE has changed the pattern for NEET SS 2022. The exam will be group based examination. As per the NEET SS 2022 exam pattern, the exam will be held in computer-based mode on September 1 & September 2 in morning or evening shift. NEET SS 2022 question paper will comprise 150 questions and time duration will be 2.5 hours.
 

NEET SS 2022 exam paper will consist of questions from only broad specialty primary feeder this year. Each candidate can opt for any of the super specialty as per feeder subject, unlike last year, where each candidate opted for only two super specialties and the examination paper consisted of 60% questions from super specialty and 40% questions from feeder broad specialty.
