UPSC CDS notification 2022 PDF has been released on the official website of UPSC. The commission has rolled out the notification PDF for many non-technical vacancies including SSC women for the candidates who dream to join the defence forces. Along with the release of notification, the apply online link was made activated from 18th May till 7th June 2022. The CDS 2 2022 exam is one of the biggest opportunities for candidates who want to pursue a career in this field. The candidates must be completely conversant with all the details of the CDS exam to get the desired result and the aspired job profile.

The candidates must be well acquainted with the CDS 2022 eligibility and ensure fulfilling each criterion to proceed further in the selection process. There are four factors included in the eligibility criteria which are physical standards, nationality, education qualification, and UPSC CDS age limit. Candidates should fulfil the complete CDS eligibility at the following levels:

Physical Standards: The aspirants who have applied for different posts in the CDS 2022 should be mentally and physically fit in order to meet the physical standard guidelines, as mentioned in the official CDS notification.

Nationality: To be eligible for the CDS exam 2022, a candidate must fit be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who had migrated to India before January 01, 1962, with the intention of Permanent Settle.

CDS Age Limit
The commission has set a fixed age limit criterion for all the posts and aspirants must fall between the prescribed criterion or else their candidature can be cancelled at any stage of the selection process. The CDS age limit for all the posts is 20 years to 24 years which means candidates must be born not earlier than 2nd July 1999 and not later than 1st July 2004.

The commission has announced the vacancy details along with the official CDS notification. A total of 339 vacancies are announced for Combined Defence Services out of which 323 are released for male candidates and 16 for females. The table illustrates the CDS 1 vacancy to assist the candidates in getting a clear picture and analyzing the detailed information about it. There were a total of 341 vacancies released in different departments, such as IMA, INA, AFA, OTA for men and women.

The CDS Admit Card 2022 has been released on the official website on August 10, 2022. Aspirants will get a separate admit card for both papers. Applicants should download their admit card and check it carefully if there is any mistake in any of the details, the aspirant must inform the UPSC immediately through the mail. The Admit Card consists of the following details about the aspirants.

• Step 3: Enter the registration details once directed to the login page
• Step 4: Check the necessary details on the Admit Card properly before downloading
• Step 5: Download and subsequently print the Admit Card

• Reporting Time

If any aspirant faces any problem in downloading their CDS admit card they can also contact the UPSC immediately. Sitting for the CDS exam is possible only if the aspirant has an admit card, no aspirant will be allowed to take the CDS exam without an admit card. Every appearing must bring a hard copy of the CDS Admit Card along with one ID proof to CDS Exam Centre.

The recruitment of AFA, IMA, INA & Officers Training Academy posts is done on the basis of four rounds. Listed below are the 4 stages of CDS 2022.

• Written Exam
• SSB Interview/Personality Test
• Document Verification
• Medical Examination

A merit list is prepared for those students who obtain good marks in both the rounds of the CDS exam i.e. written examination and SSB Interview. Again note the final round of selection is based on the medical fitness for all available posts.

Candidates should be aware of the subjects of the CDS syllabus along with important topics. Candidates are required to check the entire syllabus of the CDS 2022 for its thorough preparation.

• General Knowledge: History, Physics, Biology, Geography, Political Science and current affairs of the last 4-5 months from the examination date.
• English: Basic Grammar, Synonyms, Antonyms, Comprehension Solving, Error Spotting, Para Jumbles etc.
• Elementary Math: Natural numbers, Integers, Percentages, HCF and LCM, Geometry, Logarithms, Trigonometry, Time & distance, Statistics, Mensuration etc.

The aspirants who are preparing for the CDS exam 2022 should be aware of its paper pattern. Analysis of the CDS exam pattern and proper understanding of the important topics of the syllabus will help students score better in the exam.

The exam pattern of the CDS 2022 exam is different for Officer Training Academy and Indian Naval Academy/Indian Military Academy/Indian Air Force. It is divided into two sections:

• Written Examination
• Intelligence & Personality Interview

The exam of Indian Naval Academy/Indian Military Academy/Indian Air Force comprises 3 papers, which carry a total of 300 marks. The total duration of each exam is 2 hours.

1. For IMA & Officers' Training Academy, Chennai - Degree of a recognised University or Equivalent.
2. For Indian Naval Academy - Degree in Engineering from a recognised University / Institution.
3. For Air Force Academy - Degree of a recognised University (with Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 Level) or Bachelor or Enigneering.
   
NOTE :

• Candidates with first choice as Army / Navy / Air Force are to submit proof of Graduation / Provisional Certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB.
• Candidates who are studying in the final year / Semester Degree Course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply provided candidate should not have any backlog upto the last semester / year for which results have been declared upto the time of submission of application and they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination at the time of commencement of course.
• Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination (I) & (II), 2022 as per guidelines are given in the official notification.

UPSC CDS 2022 online application link was activated on 18th May 2022 at the official website of the Union Public Service Commission. The last date to submit the application form was 7th June 2022. Candidates who wish to participate in the process need to successfully apply online for the CDS exam 2022, it is highly advisable for the candidates to submit the application form within the allotted days as no forms will be accepted after the window is closed. • Visit the official site.
• On the Page click on the link that reads "Combined Defence Services Examination (II) 2022".
• Under the section of PART I read the instruction carefully and at the Bottom click on Yes / .
• Now the application form for CDS 2 2022 will appear in which you need to fill in your personal and contact details.
• Select the preference for the academies as per age & qualification.
• Now continue to the next step. The registration ID would be generated.
• The candidates should then head to "Part II" of the application form.
• The next step is to deposit the fee of  200/-.
• Once the fee payment is done, select the desired examination centre.
• Upload a scanned copy of the photograph and signature as per the file size & dimensions specified in the official notification.
• Click "Submit" and then print/download the application form for the CDS exam for future use.

Get the complete details of the CDS application fee to be submitted with the online form. The application form will not be submitted without the application fee.

• The application fee for the CDS 2022 exam is  200/-.
• SC/ST/Females are exempted from fee payment.
• The payment submission is available in both offline and online modes.
