About XAT Exam

XAT Exam 2023 Registration is ongoing on the official website of XLRI. The candidates thinking of appearing in XAT 2023 must complete the registration on or before 30 November 2022. XAT Notification 2023 was released on 9 August 2023 by XLRI on its official website. As per the latest update, XAT Exam 2023 is scheduled to be held on 8 January 2023, the second Sunday of January 2023.

XAT Full Form is Xavier Aptitude Test, an MBA Exam held for admissions into XLRI. The aspirants who are thinking of appearing in the upcoming XAT exam must check all the details of the XAT 2023, such as exam date, registration, notification, syllabus, exam pattern, and more.


XAT Exam Date

XLRI Jamshedpur will release XAT 2023 schedule most likely in the last week of July. Check tentative XAT exam dates and events below:

XAT Eligibility

The candidates aiming at XAT Exam 2023 must check the XAT Eligibility before registering for the exam. The detailed eligibility for XAT Exam includes educational qualification, age limit, and nationality. Note the below guiding points for the basic concepts for XAT Eligibility 2023.

  • The candidate must complete 3 Year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline from any recognized university in India.
  • The final-year students are also eligible to apply for XAT 2023.

(Note: The candidates must note one thing that there are no minimum marks criteria to appear XAT Exam)


XAT Admit Card

XAT admit card 2023 download process will start from December 20, 2022 onwards. The admit cards will be released online at the exam website. Check below the steps to download XAT 2023 admit card which is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam hall:

  • Visit the official website of XAT 2023

  • Click on "Download admit card" tab

  • Enter details like XAT User ID and date of birth and click on "login"

XAT Selection

After the declaration of the result, the selection process for XAT Exam 2023 will begin. The candidates must note one thing XLRI does not conduct ant centralized selection process. Every institute has its own selection process and criteria. Note the points below to get an idea about the XAT Selection Process.

  • XAT 2023 Selection Process will include GD and PI Rounds. The candidates who will clear XAT Cut Off can expect a call from their desired Institute.
  • After the conclusion of the PI Round, XLRI will prepare the final merit list based on the different parameters, including XAT Scores, GD-PI Scores, Academic Records, Work Experience, and the Scores in GK & Essay Writing Section.

XAT Syllabus

The XAT Exam Syllabus is also most similar to the other MBA Exams in India. The only uniqueness of this exam is in 2 Sections, such as Decision Making and Essay Writing Section.

  • The Decision Making Section in XAT contains situations on business decisions and ethical dilemmas. The candidates have to answer questions basis their own understanding of the situation.
  • Apart from this, other main subjects are Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Verbal & Logical Ability, and General Knowledge.

XAT Exam Pattern

The XAT 2023 test paper will be broken into five sections, as per the XAT paper format (two parts).

  • After completing the first three portions in the allotted 165 minutes, candidates can proceed to the GK section.
  • For the first three sections of the XAT paper, there is no sectional restriction. The GK part, on the other hand, will have a time limit of 15 minutes.
  • Part 1 of the paper allows candidates to flip between sections.
  • PwD candidates will be allowed an extra 20 minutes per hour, i.e. 55 minutes for part 1 and 5 minutes for part 2.

XAT Cut off

After the completion Exam, XLRI Jamshedpur will announce cut-off of XAT Exam 2023 for PGDM and HRM Programmes. Based on this cut-off, XLRI will also shortlist the candidates for GD-PI Round. You have to log in to the official website of XAT 2023 Exam to check your status for XAT GD-PI Rounds 2023. How to Register for XAT Exam?

  • Visit the official website: xatonline. in and Log on to XAT Exam 2023
  • Click on the “Registration” tab.
  • For the registration, enter all the required details, including your name, date of birth, contact details, and email-id, to complete the registration process.
  • XAT Exam 2023 form fill-up will be finished with the upload of the scanned Photo & Signature as per the specifications.

  • A unique XAT ID and registration link will be shared with the candidates on the verified email ID

  • Cross-check all the details you have entered before clicking on the “Submit” button.
  • Pay XAT Exam 2023 fees through Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI
  • Payment of Fees using Online Payment mode only.
  •  Students are advised to print the receipt for future use. 

Application Fees : 

The candidates must pay the registration fee for XAT 2023 Exam after filling out the application form. Without paying the application fees for XAT Exam, the registration process will remain incomplete. As per the latest details, the XAT 2023 registration fee is mentioned below.

  • Registration fee XAT Exam 2023 (without late fee) – Rs. 2000./-
  • Candidates interested in XLRI Programmes need to pay an additional fee of Rs. 200/- for each program.
  • Indian candidates can apply through GMAT/GRE for Ex-PGDM, whereas an NRI/Foreign national can apply through GMAT for all the programs. Kindly note that GRE scores are only valid for EX-PGDM.
  • XAT Exam Fee for Indian Candidates applying for Ex-PGDM through GMAT/GRE– Rs. 2500/-
  • Fee for NRI/Foreign Candidates applying for one or more programs through GMAT– Rs. 5000/-.
