About RITES Exam

RITES (Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited) is an engineering company backed by the Government of India. It was established in 1947, and its main aim was to provide consultation to rail transport services to operators in India and abroad. After that, the company has expanded its business from rail transport service consultation to other planning and consultation of many other infrastructures such as ports, airports, highways, and urban planning.


RITES Exam Date

The official notification for the RITES recruitment 2023 will be published in July 2023 and other important dates are as follows:

RITES Eligibility

Dynamic candidates who want to become a part of RITES must fulfill the eligibility criteria as required by the company as below:

Educational Qualifications:
 
Name of post Minimum required qualification & experience
Civil Engineer BE/ B.Tech/ BSc (Engineering) Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in construction supervision.
Electrical Engineer BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 2 years of working experience in one or more of Electrical engineering fields such as general
Mechanical Engineer BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Mechanical/Production/ Industrial/ Automobile Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in Quality Assurance/production/manufacturing/maintenance & operations.

All the candidates belonging to the General / EWS category and candidates belonging to the reserved category applying for unreserved posts must have at least 60% aggregate marks in their minimum qualifying degree and candidates applying for reserved posts must have at least 50% aggregate marks in their minimum qualifying degree.

Age limits:
 

All the candidates applying for the engineering posts must also fulfill the age limit as stated by RITES in its official notification. The candidate’s age should not be more than 40 years (as of 1st November 2022) i.e. candidates born on or after 1st November 1980 are eligible to apply for this post.


RITES Admit Card

The notification of the Admit Card for the written test is not published yet by RITES, but it will soon be published on the website, a week or two before the written test.

The candidates are required to keep the self-attested copies of the following documents along with a copy of the application form with them during the time of personal interview:

  • 2 recent passport size color photographs
  • 12th Certificate (HSC) as the proof of date of birth.
  • Certificates / Marksheets of all the educational qualifications (Xth, XIIth / Diploma (all semesters), Graduation (all semesters))
  • Category Certificate in the prescribed format by Govt. of India (for reserved categories)
  • ID proof & Address proof (Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Aadhaar Card, etc)
  • PAN Card
  • For proof of their last Salary / CTC, the candidates shall have to submit their last Form no.16 / Salary slip / Earning Card / Appraisal letter / any other suitable document.
  • Any other document in support of your candidature
  • PWD Certificate as per the latest format (if applicable).

RITES Salary

Pay, allowances, and perks for the post of Engineers at RITES are as follows:

Basic Pay Rs.19,860/- with 1% to 3% increment annually
Allowances 65% in Non-metro cities, 70% in Metro Cities other than Mumbai/Bangalore, and 75% for Mumbai/ Bangalore
Other perks The company would provide Employee’s Medical & Accidental Insurance and would also contribute towards PF @ 12%

RITES Selection

All the applications received shall be screened and shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test. Based on the performance of candidates in the written test, they will be called for a personal interview.

Final selection of candidates shall be done based on the following weightage parameters:

  • Experience - 5%
  • Written test - 60%
  • Interview - 35% (Technical proficiency - 25% & Personality communication - 10%)

The candidates will also have the option to choose the interview language i.e. Hindi / English.

The appointment of selected candidates is solely dependent upon their medical fitness fulfillment as per the company's policy.

The syllabus of the written test is not mentioned in the official notification by RITES, but it can be anticipated by analyzing previous years’ papers.
