The Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur is one of the upcoming 20 National Institutes of Technology in India. This Institute has been created as a center of excellence for higher training, research and development in the field of science, engineering and technology. Established as an Engineering College, this Institute was declared as the prestigious National Institute of Technology in the year 2002. It was then accorded the status of a deemed university. It then had the powers to decide its own academic policy, to conduct its own examinations and to award its own degrees. It was fully transformed in an autonomous institute.
